| This last painting in the series on the life and the ministry of Jesus, is purely an allegorical concept of the imagery of the "Christian Church." It is taken from the parable of "the five wise and the five foolish virgins" that Jesus talks about in Matthew, chapter 25. It also reflects the imagery found in the 6th and 7th "letters to the churches" found in the Book of Revelation, chapter 3, which resembles the condition of the church at the present. The true and basic theme and purpose of this portrait is conveying the message of the second coming of Jesus to collect his "bride" (the church) from the earth, and take her (all the believers collectively) up to heaven to be with Him forever. |
